Ka-52M helicopters defeated AFU units in Kursk Region

Army aviation crews on Ka-52M helicopters of the Russian Army have destroyed personnel and equipment of Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) units in the border area of Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on Saturday, September 21.

"Crews of the army aviation on Ka-52M helicopters struck with aviation means of destruction against the personnel and armored military equipment of the AFU units in the border area of the Kursk region," the ministry said in a statement.

It specified that the attack was carried out by aircraft missiles. Having used them, the helicopter crews performed an anti-missile maneuver, released heat traps and returned to the departure site. The aerial gunner reported that the AFU's manpower and armored military equipment were destroyed as a result of the strike.

Russian Defense Ministry footage shows the Ka-52M being sent on a combat mission and the moment of the attack.

On the eve of September 20, the ministry said that the crew of the Su-34 multirole aviation complex of the Russian Air and Space Forces (VKS) struck and destroyed a cluster of AFU personnel and military equipment in the border area of Kursk Region. Air bombs with a universal planning and correction module (UMPK) were used for the attack. All reconnaissance targets were successfully destroyed.

Ukrainian militants attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The operation to destroy the AFU continues. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. For the entire time of fighting in the region the AFU lost over 15.65 thousand people.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
