Air defense forces destroyed 101 UAVs overnight over Russian regions

Air defense forces destroyed 101 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over Russian regions and the Sea of Azov over the past night. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on September 21.

"53 UAVs were intercepted and destroyed over the territory of the Bryansk region, 18 - over the territory of the Krasnodar region, 5 - over the territory of the Kaluga region, 3 UAVs each over the territories of the Tver and Belgorod regions, one UAV each over the territories of the Smolensk, Kursk regions and the Republic of Crimea, 16 UAVs over the waters of the Sea of Azov", - listed in the Telegram-channel of the department.

On the same day, the head of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, said that two Ukrainian drones had been destroyed over the region. Later he added that in the region reflect the attempt of a massive attack of the Armed forces of Ukraine (AFU) with the use of drones. The governor then informed that air defense forces destroyed 10 more drones over the Bryansk region. Another 16 Ukrainian drones were eliminated in the morning.

Before that, on September 20, the Governor of Kursk region Alexei Smirnov said that in the sky above the region air defense forces shot down a missile.

Ukrainian militants are trying to strike at Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
