Every year on July 28, the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) celebrates one of the most important religious holidays — the Day of the Baptism of Rus. In 2025, it falls on a Monday. On the eve of the Day of the Baptism of Rus, all—night vigils are held in Orthodox churches throughout Russia, followed by morning and evening services conducted strictly according to the regulations. Believers actively participate in festive prayer services and processions. In Moscow, the procession traditionally moves from the Assumption Cathedral to the monument to Prince Vladimir on Borovitsky Hill.

Social events are also organized in honor of this important event: officials offer congratulations, concerts, fairs, historical festivals and theatrical performances are held in the squares. Television broadcasts documentaries and feature films about Prince Vladimir and the era of his reign.
