The Holy Martyr Timothy lived in the IV century and held the post of bishop in the ancient city of Prusa (the city of Brusa in modern Turkey). He actively preached Christianity among urban residents and converted many pagans to Christ. For his dedication and perseverance, he was rewarded by the Lord with the gift of healing and miracle-working.
The saint's life fell during the reign of Emperor Julian the Apostate, a former Christian who returned to pagan cults. During this period, by decree of the emperor, the teaching of Christianity was banned in schools, which marked the beginning of a new wave of persecution and repression against believers.
Despite the threats and dangers, Timothy remained faithful to Christ, continuing to preach the gospel and heal the sick. He was revered as a saint for his courage and spiritual strength.
